Administratively, the Uruguay is dived in 19 departments.

It is a small country, with great history, situated in South America between Argentina, Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by rivers and " Cuchillas” (choppers, local name for mostly low elevations), giving to the whole territory a wavy aspect .It has a surface of 176.215 km 2 (68,037 sq miles). There is almost a marine moderate climate. It is rather uniform without notable differences from the extreme points of the territory. It is practically subtropical, with abundant precipitations, and a maximum of 22º Centigrade in January and February (summer) and 72 % of humidity.

Decorating the coastline of “Rio de la Plata” (River Plate) and all around this magnificent country full of beaches, parks and paths, you can find a native tree of almost 20 meters high called "Ceibo" with a beautiful flower which is the national flower of Uruguay.
