La Barra de Chuy, Rocha, Uruguay is a small virgin-like place with a huge heart. And it is here where you will enjoy a peaceful and safe atmosphere. The word "Chuy" is an onomatopoeic word, it is the sound made by the native birds "chuuueee". The Stream called Chuy (or Chui, depending on which side you are standing) divides the Brazilian Barra from Uruguay's Barra with their language as the only frontier. Uruguayans with their Spanish and Brazilians with their Portuguese mix their words and cultures together making Chuy  a unique place.
